I grew a lot during my 2011 year with Cavalia’s second touring show  “Odysseo”.  It was a great chance to experience a large-scale creative process – putting together a show with 54 cast members and multiple directors and choreographers in the largest big top in the world. I took my second crack at the “rotating pole,” which I had originally learned for a soloist role in the Cirque du Soleil show “Les Chemins Invisibles” under the direction of Les Oiseaux du Paradis.  This time around I approached the apparatus in a duet with my long-time coach and dear friend Sam Alvarez – an artist I deeply admire. Sam and I also partnered on aerial hoop, my first time on this apparatus and a steep learning curve for me. Perhaps my favorite act in the show is called “Vol” or Flight, and as you see in the photo, it was just that – truly thrilling.
